If you plan to participate in this year's Shoebox Project, please take time to review the information on this page, as it contains all of the details you and your church or organization needs to participate effectively. We recommend you check this page often, as information can (and often does) change!
Below you will find links to electronic copies of the Shoebox Inventory sheet and the Shoebox Flyer. The Inventory Sheet provides a list of shoebox "categories" along with a list of items to place inside each shoebox. The Shoebox Flyer is available for you to make copies and distribute to others so they can get involved with the project too. It could ideally be used as an insert in your Sunday bulletin, as a hand-out at small-group meetings or perhaps posted on a public bulletin board. Feel free to make as many copies as you need.

Coordinating the assembly of thousands of shoebox gifts is a monumental task, and each year, our shoebox number grows. The cost associated with transporting the shoeboxes to needy children -- particularly over the past two years -- has grown as well. To help underwrite our rising transportation costs, we are asking you to assist us by including a $ 2.00 donation (or more) with each box you donate. We know everyone's finances are being stretched -- sometimes beyond their limit, so we thank you, in advance, for your generous support of this worthwhile project. May God bless you richly for your faithfulness to Him and to this ministry.
If you would like to participate in the Christmas Shoebox Project, here are the steps to follow:
- Determine the shoebox category (from the list below) for your gift and clearly mark the top of the box with the appropriate category (large black magic marker works best);
- Fill your box with gifts from the suggested list below;
- You may enclose a photo of yourself or your family if you so choose;
- Not all the items need to be in your box, but your box must be full;
- Please, no books or Bibles in English ... Spanish only, please. Coloring books in English are OK;
- Secure the lid to the box with THREE (3) LARGE rubber-bands; and
- Prayerfully consider including an envelope with each of your boxes containing a $ 2.00 donation (or more). This will assist us in covering our rising fuel and transportation costs. Simply attach the envelope to the top of your box and it will collected by the BUSES staff prior to transporting them to their destination.
There are five (5) shoebox categories to choose from:
- Infant box;
- Boy box;
- Girl box;
- Teacher box (15 needed); and
- Pastor and Pastor's Wife box (30 each needed);
Wrapping your gift is not required, however, if you choose to wrap your shoebox, please wrap your box and lid separately!
All shoeboxes are due at our
Lorain, Ohio facility no later than:
November 15th
